Right to Ask Supplementary Question Taken Away as Speaker Did Not Allow it, Says Rahul Gandhi

Rahul Gandhi was asking the government to name wilful bank loan defaulters, but was not allowed another supplementary question amid uproar in the lower house.

new Delhi: Congress pioneer Rahul Gandhi on Monday said his entitlement to pose a strengthening inquiry in Lok Sabha was removed as Speaker Om Birla didn’t permit it.

He said he was harmed by the activity as it was the obligation of the speaker to ensure his entitlement to talk and pose a strengthening inquiry.

Gandhi was requesting that the administration name wilful bank advance defaulters, yet was not permitted another strengthening question in the midst of turmoil in the lower house.

“I was not permitted to pose strengthening inquiry in Lok Sabha, this removes my privilege as MP,” Gandhi told journalists outside Parliament.

He likewise inquired as to why the administration is terrified of naming wilful bank credit defaulters.
