Google recently rolled out the version 7.4 update for its Camera app. The app brings several new features to Pixel smartphones, including new resolution toggle, 8K zoom while shooting videos and more. But the update is creating some significant issues for Pixel 2 and Pixel 2XL users. Several Pixel 2 and Pixel 2XL smartphone users have started reporting that they are unable to shoot photos or videos using the rear camera after the update.
The irritation from the users on the new buggy Camera app update can be clearly seen under the comments section of the Play Store listing page. Most of the users have mentioned that the rear camera of Pixel 2 smartphone stopped working after the latest update.
A user named Dale Winters wrote, “Used to work fine. Now it doesn’t work at all. If Google is trying to tell me to buy a new Pixel (I have a Pixel 2) them (sic) are sending me over to Samsung.”
Another user, JDR Purcell, has commented that both the cameras on his Pixel 2XL smartphone have stopped working after the update and now it only shows a black screen and the app crashes after a while. The user further mentioned that he has also tried resetting camera apps and the entire smartphone, but nothing has helped so far.
Google, as of now, has not commented anything on the recent Camera app bug on Pixel 2 and Pixel 2XL smartphones, however, if you own one, it’s better to let the update go and wait for the next Camera app update.
