South Korean tech giant Samsung is working on a new variant of its Galaxy S20 series, as per a report by SamMobile. The alleged upcoming smartphone will take over the S Lite lineup, claims the report.
As per the report, the smartphone under development will be called Galaxy S20 Fan Edition. It comes with model number SM-G780 (Global) and SM-G781(US). The Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite has a model number SM-G770.
According to the report, more than one version of the alleged upcoming handset will be available. The SM-G780 is expected to be launched worldwide with or without 5G while the SM-G781 will be a 5G device only, says the report. Since Samsung kept the same processor in Galaxy S10 Lite as it did in the S10 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 (in some markets), it is being speculated that the toned-down version of the S20 series, the Fan Edition, will also ship with Snapdragon 865.
As per the report, the device will come with at least 128GB of internal storage and run Android 10 with One UI 2.5. As to what would be the name of the device, we have our fingers crossed. It could be launched as Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition or could also be named as Samsung Galaxy S20 Lite.
